Ants are a regular problem in Coorparoo, especially after summer storms when their nests flood and whole colonies march inside looking for dry ground and food. Trails form along skirting boards, across kitchen benches and into pantry jars, and some ants also build nests inside wall cavities, under pavers or in pot plants on the balcony.
Spraying the ants you can see often makes things worse, because it can split the colony into several smaller nests.
